When we started the Touring Professionals Alliance (TPA) back in 2020, we set out to create a resource for our colleagues in the touring community during an unimaginable time. The pandemic made us realize more than ever we need to be there for one another, extending support, while searching for available resources. Many organizations could not provide resources because most do not understand what we do, our passion, and what we sacrifice for the good of the show.
Over the past five and half years, the TPA has been able to create a global network of 2,500 plus members. We have heard stories of struggles, financial pain, and health issues. We connected those in need with the proper agencies and collaborated with dozens of foundations to expand our reach. Along the way, the TPA has been able to connect, uplift, and disseminate necessary information vital to our profession. In our proudest accomplishment, via the TPAK (Touring Professionals Alliance Kitchen), we were able to work together with top celebrity chefs across the country to prepare over 14,000 elevated meals in ten music-centric cities.
After much thought and consideration, we have made the difficult decision to dissolve the TPA. Thank you to our incredible donors, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, and partners. We could not have existed without monetary and time contributions from all our supporters. The remainder of our funds will be distributed to MusiCares, the leading national charity providing a safety net of health and human services to the music community. Our member database will be shared with them for any future assistance needed.
